Venetian Plaster
in
New York City

Gora Decoration applies authentic Venetian plaster — stucco veneziano — across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester, and the Tri-State Area. Our master artisans use genuine lime-and-marble-dust plasters, hand-applied in multiple coats and burnished to a finish ranging from silky matte to mirror-polished.

The Art of Venetian Plaster

What is Venetian Plaster?

Venetian plaster, known in Italian as Stucco Veneziano, is a centuries-old wall finishing technique made from slaked lime and finely ground marble dust. Originating during the Italian Renaissance, it has been used on grand palaces, villas, and churches throughout Europe for hundreds of years.

What makes Venetian plaster different from paint is its depth. Each surface is built up in multiple thin layers, with each coat troweled and burnished by hand. The finished wall captures and reflects light in ways that paint simply cannot, creating surfaces with subtle movement, tactile warmth, and the unmistakable presence of natural stone.

Because the material is lime-based, it is also naturally antibacterial, mold-resistant, and breathable qualities that have made it a preferred finish for luxury residences and commercial interiors alike for centuries.

Venetian Plaster Finishes We Offer

01

Polished Venetian Plaster

Stucco Lamindo | Grassello Fino

A high-gloss, mirror-like finish achieved through multiple coats and meticulous burnishing. Captures light dramatically — ideal for dining rooms, statement walls, and powder rooms in Manhattan penthouses.

04

Matte Venetian Plaster

Marmorino Fino

A softer, contemporary interpretation of traditional Venetian plaster. Subtle sheen with extraordinary depth — popular for living rooms, bedrooms, and modern downtown lofts.

02

Marmorino

Marmorino Classico

A textured plaster made from crushed marble — ranges from smooth-troweled to deeply textured. Brings a warm European country feel to restaurants, brownstones, and pre-war apartments.

05

Textured Plasters

Stucco Antico

A weathered, old-world finish with intentional surface variation. Perfect for fireplaces, accent walls, and spaces seeking a Mediterranean or aged character.

03
